Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger changed his plans and decided that he would not rent another club, the new Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos. Originally the Frenchman said the 20-year-old is still not ready to play for Arsenal and will be handed over to a Bundesliga team, most likely Werder (Bremen). In just a week, however, Mavropanos impressed Wenger and the manager decided to leave him on the team. `I want to keep it with us at least until May to get to know him better and to find out exactly what level he is in. What he showed on the training was encouraging and I decided to leave it until May`, said Wenger. Mavropanos, who was paid about 2 million pounds for PAS Ianina, was on the bench during the first semi-finals of the League Cup against Chelsea.
